Season by season
Spring
Move onto gravel and rock flats to spawn as water warms into the upper 50s–60s°F (14–18°C).
Summer
Rocky points, humps and current seams; often deeper than largemouth in clear lakes.
Autumn
Aggressive feeding before winter — one of the best times for big fish.
Winter
Hold deep and move little. Slow jigs, hair jigs and drop-shots near the bottom.
