Most fishing content online exists to sell something. This site exists to explain how tackle works — the guidance stays brand-free, and the few shop links are clearly marked.
What we commit to

- No manufacturer specifications or lab figures are quoted; numbers describe practical use — for example, typical line strengths for a species, not a product's tested breaking strain.
- Species photographs are free-licensed images from Wikimedia Commons, credited on every page where one appears.
- Anything set by law — seasons, size limits, bait rules, hook restrictions — is never stated as a fact on this site; pages direct you to your local authority instead.
What we deliberately don't cover
- Product reviews and buying recommendations for specific items.
- Current prices, sales or availability.
- Jurisdiction-specific legal advice — rules change too often and vary by individual water.
- Local fishing reports, which go out of date within days.
